Amy Buckalew is an undergraduate student majoring in Statistical Science with a concentration in Data Science and a minor in Computer Science. She has always had a keen interest in climate and the environment, spending time volunteering for the Coastal Carolina Riverwatch through Duke Engage last summer and Adopt A Stream. With the Planet Lab, she is working on the identification and analysis of extreme weather events. She hopes to utilize her data analysis skills to help people by generating insights that inform public health initiatives and strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of extreme weather events. Amy is excited to collaborate with fellow researchers and explore innovative solutions that can help build a more resilient and sustainable future. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, photography, and spending time in the Duke Gardens.
